Ballerina Beauties!

Fairy lights
Once Upon a Time……there was a restless ballerina who decided it was high time to leave the bright lights of Jelly Mould City. She very soon joined her friends on the Silver Sugar Spoon Tree. Being a very rebellious ballerina she quickly was encouraging all her fellow ballerina’s to seek new homes on bedecked fir trees up and down the land.
Buy one of these ballerina beauties and you could continue this farcical but oh so real fairytale!!
Off to tramp down the Yellow Brick Road with real live Rocking Dog.

Hambrook WI gave a unanimous thumbs up to Rocking Dog mince pies and hope they liked the kitsch snow globe presentation. How I love little fir trees, red spotted mushrooms, ballerina’s and fairy lights!

Christmas Food Labels
Rocking Dog is readying herself for this evening’s Hambrook WI session. I am leading a session on Edible Gifts- hope the lovely ladies don’t think I am trying to teach them to suck eggs! They have such a reputation for their cooking and baking skills. I will sign on tomorrow with their review of my Secret Mince Pies!

Rosettes

Mums are Best

Quick labels for parcels (these were for a Baby shower). The orange rosette is made from a short length of pretty ribbon. Hand sew a line of running stitch along one of the long edges of the ribbon and then pull the cotton so it gathers up. Anchor with two or three stitches and stitch the two short edges together neatly. Cut a circle of thin card and handwrite or stamp a message and glue to the centre of your rosette. Add some contrasting ribbon to finish. The other rosettes are made from paper fairy cake cases. You could adapt the idea to make table place names, badges or adornments for paper hats or party bags. As the meerkats would say….Simple!

Happy Monday!

For Lara
Inspiring the next generation of crafty folk. A present for maker friend, young Lara. Luggage labels, ribbons, buttons, string. etc.. all stowed away in a large glass jar. Packaging goods attractively we are told by the Gods of ┬áretail ┬áis all part of the shopping experience! I had wallpaper delivered last week – each roll was wrapped in turquoise tissue paper and sent in individual 3ft cardboard tubes- that is just plain wasteful!
